Lucy Loves Joe and Joe Loves Lucy

These are simply delicious....

How is it up until about a year or so ago I didn't think I liked persimmons. Grandma Brink would bring us some from her garden and I thought they looked pretty in a bowl on the table (but I always threw them away!) But now I think they are simply delicious!! I've been consuming about 3 or 4 a day and I just brought a big bag home from Grandma's. These definitely won't get thrown away!! Maybe one of my favorite Fall sights are the persimmon trees when all their leaves have fallen to the ground and just the bright orange fruit remains on the branches.

Gratitude

We gathered at Justin and Bev's for the feast and so enjoyed being together. We were only 18 this year which is down quite a few from years past. What a wonderful time of year when I am reminded even more intensely of my blessings....truly to the point of overflowing.

Sweet Victory!!!

Megan brought me home a "Y" cookie cutter so of course we had to make to make blue and white cookies to get excited about the "holy war" today.....exciting down to the last minute! So sweet!

"New Moon" while the sun is shining

A group of my favorite moms all went to see "New Moon" the day after the premier. There was no long line, no one camping out for hours to get into the theater, just a bunch of moms wanting to see what their teenage daughters are talking about. We enjoyed the movie (actually we enjoyed our lunch following the movie more) and had fun predicting the parts where the girls would be screaming....Jacob with no shirt on, Jacob again with no shirt on, etc. And even though I know my girls have heard me say this many times before, I was compelled to remind them that life without a boy (or a vampire) is worth living!
